Is it true that “her lips dripped blood”? Or did the “corpse in make-up” just go overboard with lipstick?

The ubiquitous cover girl of the Golden Age of comics!

“The underworld gangsters who control the shipment of drugs”… and the Blonde in a Red Dress so jaded and bored of it all that she sleeps through a gunfight.
Crime On The Waterfront #4, by Avon
Hey, is the Blonde in a Red Dress also moonlighting as this comic book’s copy editor? Because while she’s asleep on the job, she’s missing the letter “E” in “HEROINE”!
Down With Crime #3, by Fawcett
Wow, that’s an up-to-the-minute news headline!
(And yes, I’m still considering this a “Blonde in a Red Dress” cover, if we assume the orange coloring is due to being a strawberry blonde under dim streetlights.)
Who Is Next? #5, by Standard Comics
The Blonde in a Red Dress takes a nap while her jungle friend plays a game of whack-a-mole(man)
Prize Comics #46, Prize
Somehow yesterday’s naptime and ambulance ride ended up in the lair of weird ghoulish monsters, with a pit of green mystery liquid and a superhero in tiny pants.
(On the other hand, the Blonde in Red should probably be grateful for his presence, considering the other alternatives for help in this book would be “Slim Jim” or the “Twinkle Twins”.)
Yup, if I was having a week like this, I’d probably try to sleep through it too.
Champ Comics #22 by Harvey
Still unconscious from last week? Apparently recent events have been too exhausting for the Blonde in a Red Dress.
But, in a happy coincidence, at least a conscientious Super Spy is nearby to flag down a passing friendly ambulance for help.
Super Spy #2 by Centaur
At this point, the Blonde in Red should seriously consider having handles added to her dress, given how often she’s been carried like luggage.
Not sure if she’s still unconscious from yesterday’s cobra venom, or if she’s just taking a nap at the end of a long week.
