Bones and Bullets

I would normally assume that this cover was meant to be symbolic of the threat of death looming over a life of crime… but given the habit of the Blonde in a Red Dress to do stuff like chase after a witch’s hoard, I wouldn’t be surprised if this was an actual attack by a literal giant skull monster.

The Blonde in a Red Dress proves her hardboiled credentials by facing down a menacing strangler with nothing more than a look of extreme annoyance at the body splayed on the floor behind her. Lazy slacker, leaving her to do all the work by herself!

Danny Boy

Danny Boy published on 1 Comment on Danny Boy

The Blonde in a Red Dress seems so disappointed in the quality of her would-be rescuer that she’s avoiding eye contact. (Not sure if it’s because of something to do with the Boy Detective himself, or just that he’s a substantial step down from her usual larger-than-life super-hero guest stars.)

Sadly, I’m not culturally literate enough to properly make highbrow jokes about ballet, or classical violin, or… whatever the heck that checkerboard guy is supposed to represent.
